What exactly takes place between the time you cast your vote and numbers appear on your TV? In November, 50 million voters are expected to use electronic machines that cannot be trusted as far as they can be thrown since there is no way to perform a re-count.  Absentee ballots, especially those that indicate party affiliation on the outside of the return envelope, can be thrown away. If private companies cannot be trusted to accurately count the votes, and if incumbents cannot be trusted to accurately count opposing votes, who can we trust to count the votes?  Only the American public can be trusted to count the votes.
